On the eve of Monaco’s National Day, which will be celebrated on June 28th at the Universal Exhibition 2025 Osaka Kansai, a special sporting event called “United through Legends” will bring together two legendary teams. The football match will feature the “Barbagiuans de Monaco” team against the “Japan All Star Team” on Friday, June 27th, 2025, at the Panasonic Stadium Suita in Osaka.

Organized by Louis Ducruet, President of the Barbagiuans, this prestigious match will be held under the High Patronage of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco. The Prince places great importance on the relationship between the Principality of Monaco and Japan, and the sport is seen as a symbol of fraternity and exchange between nations. Prince Albert II will honor the event with his presence.

The Monaco team, Barbagiuans, will once again bring together prestigious names from international football such as Robert Pirès, Ludovic Giuly, Marcel Desailly, Rivaldo, Clarence Seedorf, Emmanuel Adebayor, Patrice Evra, among others. The Japan All Star Team will feature iconic figures from Japanese football, including Daisuke Matsui, Shoji Jo, Hisato Sato, Yoshito Okubo, Takayuki Suzuki. Kazuyoshi Miura, Hidetoshi Nakata, and Keisuke Honda will also be invited.

The match will take place at the modern Panasonic Stadium, which can accommodate up to 40,000 spectators. The proceeds from the match and the gala evening that follows will be donated to Fight Aids Monaco, an association chaired by H.S.H. Princess Stéphanie of Monaco, who has been actively involved with people living with HIV/AIDS for many years, as well as several Japanese charitable organizations.
