Full Story:
The South Region and the Principality of Monaco have worked together to obtain a new plan for railway works between Nice and Vintimille. In a recent meeting, representatives from the government of Monaco, the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Region, SNCF Voyageurs, SNCF Réseau, and other regional and Monégasque services discussed the planned works on the Nice-Vintimille line from September 15, 2024, to June 26, 2025, and the related substitution plan.

The South Region and Monaco previously united to voice their concerns about the proposed works and substitution plans by SNCF, and to request adjustments that better meet the needs of travelers and the expectations of the Principality. Two previous meetings led to a slight delay in the start of the works and the cancellation of works scheduled on the evening of the AS Monaco – FC Barcelona Champions League match on September 19.

The latest meeting resulted in a new plan for the works, which includes train operations until 10:00 PM instead of the original 9:00 PM, cancellation of works on match evenings starting at 9:00 PM, and an extension of works in the morning without affecting the originally planned transportation schedule.

The South Region and Monaco welcome these significant improvements, as they allow for a railway service that meets the expectations of users and Monégasque authorities, while also facilitating the necessary modernization works on the Nice-Vintimille railway line.
