The Embassy of Monaco in Germany celebrated the 19th anniversary of the Reign of H.S.H. Prince Albert II with a reception held at the Waldorf Astoria hotel in Berlin. The reception was attended by over 200 guests, including representatives from the German Federal Foreign Office, ambassadors, members of the diplomatic corps, as well as figures from the economic, financial, cultural sectors, and German nobility. S.E. M. Lorenzo RAVANO, the Ambassador of Monaco to Germany, highlighted notable events in recent months, such as the inauguration of the Monaco section at the Miniatur Wunderland Museum in Hamburg by the Princely Family on April 25, 2024, and the participation of H.S.H. Prince Albert II at the Arctic Circle Berlin Forum in May. The Ambassador emphasized the strong ties between Monaco and Germany, the dynamic German community in the Principality, and the 2024 commemorations of Monaco’s 75th anniversary of joining UNESCO and 20th anniversary of joining the Council of Europe. In light of ongoing conflicts and calls for an Olympic Truce, a moment of silence was observed for the victims of conflicts and terrorism worldwide. The Ambassador also highlighted Monaco’s sporting traditions and excellence, such as events like the Olympic torch relay, the departure of the final stage of the 2024 Tour de France, and the accomplishments of individuals like Charles Leclerc, the Monégasque Formula 1 driver who won on home soil in May. Dr. Sven MOSSLER, Head of the Division for Bilateral Relations with Monaco at the German Federal Foreign Office, praised the excellent relations between the two countries and emphasized the importance of having Monaco as a partner in international institutions to uphold the rule of law, combat climate change, and protect the oceans.
