Full Story:
The Department of Cultural Affairs welcomed the new artists in residence at Les Ateliers du Quai – International Artist Residency on December 3rd. One of the artists, Laëtitia KY, advocates for women’s empowerment in Côte d’Ivoire through her hair sculptures and paintings. Abhijit PATHAK, a painter, explores cultural heritage and historical narratives through large-scale abstract creations.
Four young talents, postgraduate students from the Pavillon Bosio – Higher School of Plastic Arts of Monaco, share a studio. Maria Magdalena DAVID and Ilona ROUGEMOND have joined Ahmad RESHAD and Gabriel-Noé ROSTICHER, who have been established there for a few months already.
In addition to their personal work, all four are collaborating on scenographic projects, including with Pavillon Monaco in preparation for the Universal Exhibition in Osaka in 2025.
Collaborative projects are encouraged throughout the residency, resulting in inspiring synergies for the artists and the institutions of the Principality.
Les Ateliers du Quai are awarded by the Department of Cultural Affairs through a call for proposals, and they host local and international artists for a period of six months to one year to carry out an artistic project.
