The Garden Club of Monaco, founded by Princess Grace of Monaco in 1968, is organizing the 55th International Bouquet Competition on May 4th and 5th, 2024, at the Yacht Club of Monaco. The theme for this edition, under the High Patronage of H.S.H. Prince Albert II, and the Presidency of H.S.H. the Princess of Hanover, is “Seas and Oceans.”

The categories for this theme are all “free” style and open to everyone, including amateurs, professionals, decorators, and teachers, except for the “youth” category reserved for children aged 6 to 14. The categories include:
1. Historic sailboats with large dimensions
2. Coral reefs on a pedestal
3. Fishing nets in a niche
4. Sea storms on a pedestal
5. Ice sheets or icebergs in a niche
6. Onboard lunch table decorations
7. The Beach (youth category) in a niche

Registration for the competition is possible until April 26, 2024. The competition rules are available on the Garden Club of Monaco website.

The “Special Jury,” presided over by H.S.H. the Princess of Hanover, and composed of literary and artistic personalities, will award Special Prizes. The “Official Jury,” consisting of judges, professors, international authors, and floral art specialists, will award Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medals, as well as the Grand Prix and the Princess Grace of Monaco Award.

The Garden Club of Monaco will also hold free public conferences at the prestigious Yacht Club of Monaco on May 5th. Topics include “Ikebana and Floral Decoration,” “Methods of Orchid Multiplication: Vegetative Division, Seeding, and Cloning,” and “The Art of Bonsai in Japan & Shaping Demonstration by Ligature.” These conferences will be followed by a demonstration by Kevin Billard, the florist and decorator of the Prince’s Palace.
