Full Story:
A international thief with a long criminal record has been sentenced to one month in prison in Monaco. In February 2024, the woman, in her forties and originally from Lille, committed her first theft in a Carrefour City store in the Principality, stealing items worth €99. She had been wanted by the Sûreté Publique since then. On March 10, 2024, she returned to Monaco and engaged in her favorite pastime: theft. She first stole food from Petit Casino for €84.47, and then beauty products from a Monaco pharmacy totaling €298. The thief was apprehended by the Sûreté Publique thanks to video surveillance, unaware that she had also stolen from the casino and pharmacy. Unable to explain the origin of the products in her bag, she later admitted to stealing food from supermarkets and beauty products from pharmacies to sell them. The woman’s criminal record includes numerous thefts in London, attempted thefts, thefts, and home invasions in Geneva and Lausanne, as well as previous convictions in France. The Monaco pharmacy, which was a victim of her theft, sought compensation for the stolen beauty products worth €298. Although the products were returned, the plastic packaging had been removed, making them “unsellable,” according to the pharmacy representative. As expected, the Monaco Court sentenced her to one month in prison, a five-year ban from entering the Principality, and ordered her to reimburse the pharmacy for the stolen amount of €298, hopefully putting an end to her international stealing spree.
