The tournament is part of the Mediterranean sportfishing calendar and aims to track and understand the movements of fish. It also promotes the unity and collaboration of fishing communities. A total of 53 tags were placed on 51 bluefin tunas, allowing the crews to contribute to ongoing research and conservation efforts. This year, a satellite tag from the Monegasque Sport Fishing Federation was also placed on a bluefin tuna for more precise tracking. The tournament resulted in the capture and release of 85 bluefin tunas, the most caught during the event, as well as other species like swordfish and mahi-mahi. In the inshore category, the Papeete II emerged as the winner with a remarkable score of 1,350 points. In the offshore category, the Watanga secured the first place with 43 bluefin tunas. The Monaco teams, Manatee II and L’Antoine, also performed well and secured second and third places, respectively.
