The Prince’s Government Supports the 2024 Paris Olympics
The Prince’s Government of Monaco is providing support for the 2024 Paris Olympics through the Digital Platforms and Resources Division (DPRN) of the Interministerial Delegation for Digital Transition. The DPRN is working in collaboration with the National Frequencies Agency to manage and control radio frequency spectrum across all Olympic sites in France.
Frédéric Rué and Hubert Phan from the DPRN are assigned to the “Test & Tagging” office at the Allianz Riviera in Nice for the entire duration of the event.
Managing radio frequency spectrum is a significant challenge for host countries during major events, with intense frequency usage by organizers, security, and media. The DPRN annually implements large-scale operational systems for important events in Monaco, such as the Grand Prix, rallies, the Monaco Yacht Show, and the recent Tour de France. Their role is to control all radio equipment, verify wireless devices, and ensure real-time availability of assigned frequencies for onboard cameras, walkie-talkie communication, field reporting, and security vehicle radios.
The DPRN also handles frequency planning and coordination throughout the year for various stakeholders, including Monaco-flagged boats, aircraft, property managers, Monaco’s terrestrial and digital radio, FM radio, and mobile telephony.
