Full Story:
Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco accompanied their children, Crown Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella, as they lit up the Christmas lights throughout the Principality of Monaco. This was the first time the young Princes participated in the lighting ceremony, where they pressed the red button in Palais Square in Monaco Ville. Mayor Georges Marsan expressed the honor of illuminating the city from this historic location, symbolizing the unity of the community around their Sovereign. A total of 87 large decorations, 410 lamppost decorations, and 25 new scenographies were installed by the city’s animation service, all illuminated until January 5, 2025, using energy-efficient LED lighting. After lighting up the city, the Princes, along with their parents and Minister of State Didier Guillaume, moved on to illuminate the legendary Casino Square in Monte-Carlo. The theme for the lighting this year, not only in the square but also in all the Palace buildings, was Magical Christmas Moments. The lighting spectacle included a show of sounds and lights on the facade of the Casino de Monte-Carlo, featuring illuminated bubbles representing magical Christmas moments. Visitors can enjoy this sound and light show on the Casino facade from December 6 to 20, with performances every Friday and Saturday from 6 pm to 10 pm, and every evening from December 21. The countdown to the new year on December 31 will be accompanied by music.
