Full Story:
Over 50 boats are participating in the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge, an emissions-free event for water mobility held at the Yacht Club de Monaco. The event, organized under the presidency of Prince Albert II of Monaco, brings together industry professionals and students to imagine and develop the future of recreational boating by showcasing alternative propulsion and hull design innovations. Throughout the year, 700 students from over 40 universities worldwide representing 25 nations have been working on their innovative projects, with 450 of them presenting their solutions in the Principality until July 6. The participating boats are divided into three categories based on their energy class and technology. Notable participants in the energy classes include Italian students from the University of Messina, Politecnico di Milano, Politecnico di Torino, University of Genoa, and the University of Bologna “Alma Mater Studiorum”. In addition to traditional events, the first YCM E-Boat Rally will showcase electric boats available on the market and provide a glimpse into the future of boating. The rally will cover a 21 nautical mile route between Monaco and Cala del Forte in Ventimiglia, where participants can recharge their boats and present them to the Italian public.
