The traditional Opening Ceremony of the Courts for the 2024/2025 judicial year was held on Tuesday, October 1st at the Palace of Justice in Monaco. The event was attended by His Serene Highness the Sovereign Prince, accompanied by Mr. Samuel Vuelta Simon, the Secretary of State for Justice and Director of Judicial Services, along with several other dignitaries. Prior to the ceremony, a Mass was celebrated at Monaco Cathedral. The President of the Court of Appeal, Mr. Francis Jullemier-Millasseau, reported on the judicial activity of the previous year and discussed various measures to further improve the efficiency of the justice system. Meanwhile, Mr. Stéphane Thibault, the Attorney General, made his recommendations, including the priority of implementing an action plan to remove Monaco from the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) gray list. The keynote speech was delivered by Mr. Stéphane Braconnier, the President of the Supreme Court, addressing the theme of “The Judge, the Law, and the State”.
