Full Story:
Monaco recently held the second edition of the ÜNSEME Cup, a tournament that aims to strengthen ties with local communities. The event saw eight teams from partner towns and clubs, including Vintimille, Dolceacqua, and Ospedaletti from Italy, compete at La Turbie stadium. The tournament featured more than 100 teenagers aged 14 to 15 representing their respective municipalities. After an intense group stage, Vintimille, Cap-d’Ail, Beausoleil, and Roquebrune-Cap-Martin made it to the semi-finals. Vintimille created a surprise by eliminating defending champions Cap-d’Ail in a penalty shootout. In the finals, Vintimille defeated Beausoleil 2-1 to claim the victory. This successful tournament is part of AS Monaco’s commitment to the youth and promoting values such as teamwork and self-improvement. The mayor of La Turbie expressed his joy at hosting the event and highlighted the goal of inspiring adolescents to participate in sports. Beyond the competition, the young participants had the opportunity to visit AS Monaco’s Performance Center and received full club kits and tickets to a match against Strasbourg. The ÜNSEME Cup is just one of many initiatives launched by AS Monaco, including the Munegu Cup, Kids Tour, and “Tous au Stade” program, that aim to connect with the local youth. These initiatives have allowed thousands of children and teenagers to experience the Stade Louis-II and embrace the values upheld by the club.
