The Principality of Monaco participated in the first Peace Summit in Ukraine, held at Bürgenstock near Lucerne, Switzerland, on June 15th and 16th. The summit, organized by Switzerland at the request of Ukraine, aimed to provide momentum to the peace process, foster trust, and create a vision for future steps involving Russia. Over 100 countries and international organizations, including around 50 Heads of State and Government from all continents, responded to the invitation. Discussions focused on three main themes: nuclear safety, food security, and the human dimension of the conflict, including forced displacement of populations and the issue of prisoners of war. At the end of the summit, the participating countries adopted a declaration reaffirming the principles of the United Nations Charter and international law, as well as the common vision that emerged during the discussions. Efforts to progress and sustain the peace process will continue. Additionally, during the summit, Monaco’s Minister for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Madame Isabelle BERRO-AMADEÏ, had a meeting with Ukraine’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dmytro KULEBA, who expressed gratitude for Monaco’s support, both bilaterally and multilaterally.
