Monaco’s report on human rights was recently adopted by the UN Human Rights Council following its Universal Periodic Review. The report was presented by S.E. Mrs. Carole Lanteri, the Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Monaco to the United Nations in Geneva. During the review, Ambassador Lanteri addressed the recommendations made to Monaco and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to promoting and protecting human rights. The adoption of the final report was done by consensus, signifying the conclusion of the fourth cycle of the review process. The Universal Periodic Review is a mechanism established by the UN Human Rights Council in which member states review each other’s human rights policies and provide recommendations for improvement. Monaco, like all other UN member states, undergoes this review every five years.
