Full Story:
The Direction des Affaires Culturelles in Monaco has announced a program dedicated to baroque music in early December. On December 3rd, the ensemble La Sportelle will perform at the Sacré-Cœur Church, followed by a performance by the ensemble Concerto Soave at the Chapelle de la Miséricorde on December 5th.
The program “Mater Ecclesia” by La Sportelle will present choral works alternating with organ pieces in a beautiful dialogue between Germany and Spain, featuring composers such as Johann Sebastian Bach, Alonso Lobo, Tomás Luis de Victoria, and Francisco Guerrero.
La Sportelle is a vocal ensemble attached to Rocamadour – Musique Sacrée and is dedicated to sacred repertoire. Their approach aims to evoke emotion and create significant encounters with the audience by seeking sensitivity and beauty.
Concerto Soave, founded by María Cristina Kiehr and Jean-Marc Aymes, explores Italian repertoire from the seventeenth century to contemporary creations. Their performance “Venite, Exultemus” will highlight the motets for bass voice and violins “à l’italienne” by André Campra and Nicolas Bernier, showcasing a splendid fusion of French elegance and nobility with Italian melodic invention, drama, and naturalness.
The concerts will take place at the Sacré-Cœur Church in Moneghetti on December 3rd and at the Chapelle de la Miséricorde in Monaco-Ville on December 5th.
Admission is free, subject to availability. More information can be found at [culture.mc](https://culture.mc/).
