On October 9, 2024, Mrs. Alyson CALEM-SANGIORGIO, Second Secretary at the Permanent Mission of Monaco to the United Nations, spoke at the Commission on Social, Cultural, and Humanitarian Affairs, which addresses the human rights of vulnerable individuals. She highlighted the 30th anniversary of the World Conference on Women (Beijing+30) and the 25th anniversary of Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace, and Security. Mrs. CALEM-SANGIORGIO emphasized the importance of women’s meaningful participation and empowerment, as well as Monaco’s efforts in combating gender-based violence. She also commended the Special Rapporteur on Violence against Women and Girls for her report focusing on different forms of violence in sports this year. Monaco expressed its support for the UN Women’s Sport for Generation Equality program.
