Full Story:
Monaco is gearing up to celebrate World Maritime Day on September 26th. To commemorate this special occasion, the Prince’s Palace and the Yacht Club of Monaco will be illuminated in blue. The theme for this year’s event is “Navigating the Future: Safety First,” in recognition of the importance of maritime security and the protection of the marine environment. This aligns with the 50th anniversary of the adoption of the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS). Various events will take place throughout the day, including a symposium on extreme maritime conditions, with the participation of a representative from the Principality. In addition, since 2021, the International Maritime Organization has encouraged member states and organizations to illuminate iconic locations in their countries in blue to raise awareness about the global significance of maritime transport. Monaco will be joining this initiative by lighting up the Prince’s Palace and the Yacht Club to demonstrate its commitment to the sea and the maritime community.
