During the UN General Assembly, Mr. Benjamin VALLI, Counselor at Monaco’s Permanent Mission to the UN, reiterated the principality’s support for the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and its staff. Monaco has a longstanding commitment to nuclear safety and security and recognizes the essential role played by the IAEA and its teams on the ground. Since 2007, Monaco has provided support to the IAEA’s cancer-fighting initiatives and recently renewed funding for the “Rays of Hope” program for two more years. Monaco also appreciates the assistance provided by the IAEA to its member states in terms of technical cooperation and capacity-building, particularly through the Environment Laboratories hosted in the principality since 1961.
