The Municipality of Monaco partnered with the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation and various organizations to raise awareness about the dangers of drowning on the World Drowning Prevention Day. The event took place at the Rainier III Nautical Stadium. Partners of the Princess Charlene Foundation included the Monaco Red Cross, the Monaco Maritime and Airport Police Division, and the Monaco Firefighters. The event featured informational booths and first aid training on the plaza of the Rainier III Nautical Stadium. Lifeguards from the stadium and rescue swimmers from the Maritime Police also conducted pool rescue demonstrations. Children had the opportunity to take a water fluency test and receive an official certificate. The objective of the day was to highlight the impact of drowning and provide practical solutions for children and adults to stay safe in the water, following the recommendations of the World Health Organization.
