Full Story:
Monaco is launching a 3D mapping campaign to create a highly accurate digital representation of the Principality. The government is using a range of tools and technologies, including vehicles equipped with dynamic scanners, pedestrian walks with exoskeletons and 360° cameras for “streetview,” drones for vertical and roof captures, and measurements by surveyors. The first 3D mapping campaign will take place from April 15th to April 19th, with a second campaign scheduled for May. The goal of this initiative, led by the Department of Prospective, Urban Planning, and Mobility in collaboration with the Department of Digital Services, is to create a superior digital twin of Monaco. This virtual representation will enable the government to work on urban development, assess the integration of new buildings, evaluate the viability of nature restoration projects, propose pedestrian routes, and explore various other applications.
