Full Story:
Monaco recently participated in the first Peace Summit in Ukraine, demonstrating its support for the country’s peace efforts. The summit took place on June 15-16 and saw the participation of 100 countries and international organizations, with Monaco being represented by Isabelle Berro-Amadeï, Government Minister for External Relations and Cooperation, and Carole Lanteri, Ambassador to the Swiss Federal Council. The summit aimed to provide a boost to the peace process, foster trust, and create a path forward in which Russia could be involved. Key topics discussed included nuclear safety, food security, and the human dimension of the conflict, particularly the displacement of populations and the issue of prisoners of war. The final document, supported by the majority of participants, reaffirmed the principles of the United Nations Charter and international law.

In addition to its participation in the Peace Summit, Monaco has been actively supporting Ukraine since the start of the Russian offensive on February 24, 2022. Monaco has raised thousands of euros through donation appeals and conducted collections of essential products and medical supplies. The Monaco Red Cross has also deployed teams on the ground to provide assistance. Moreover, the Principality has provided refuge to hundreds of Ukrainians. Other Monégasque associations, such as AMADE (led by Princess Caroline), Fight Aids Monaco, and Caritas Monaco, have also been engaged in various forms of support.
