Full Story:
Monaco is taking a stand against food waste during the 6th edition of the European Week for Waste Reduction. The event was announced at a press conference by Valérie Davenet, Director of the Environment Department. The focus of this year’s edition is on the fight against food waste and the need for a change in habits. The objective is to raise awareness among individuals, companies, and states. To engage the public, Monaco will host a thematic village on the Promenade Honoré II during the event, featuring 14 stands and over 90 actions related to recycling and waste reduction. Various partners, including the SMA, Mairie de Monaco, SMEG, SBM, and CHPG, will collaborate on the initiative. The Oceanographic Museum will also organize a food tasting experience using seasonal ingredients to promote sustainable cooking practices. Additional activities include the collection of used clothing and sunglasses, as well as a new initiative to collect hair trimmings from local hair salons for pollution control filters. To simplify participation, all the information and the complete program for the event are available through the Your Monaco app. Monaco has gained recognition for its environmental efforts and serves as a prime example of commitment despite its small size.
