Monaco recently celebrated Olympic Day with the presence of Prince Albert II, aiming to instill fundamental values of sports and Olympism in its youth. The event, organized by the Monegasque Olympic Committee, allowed the top CM1 students to participate in Olympic sports activities at the Espace Saint-Antoine. Approximately 120 young athletes, chosen from over 420 students in Monaco, took part in various workshops supervised by Olympic athletes. The activities focused on basic movements and teamwork, including sprints, hurdle jumps, long jumps and frog jumps, precision throws, and a mixed relay race. Saint-Charles school emerged as the winner of the event, followed by François d’Assise – Nicolas Barré and Fontvieille. Prince Albert II, the president of the Monegasque Olympic Committee, encouraged the young participants throughout the competition and emphasized the importance of Olympic values such as excellence, respect, and friendship. Yvette Lambin Berti, the secretary general of the Monegasque Olympic Committee, conveyed to the students the significance of the Olympic spirit in her speech, urging them to strive for excellence in their endeavors, build strong friendships, and show respect towards everyone they meet.
