Full Story:
Monaco is boosting its taxi fleet with 28 seasonal electric taxis to accommodate the influx of tourists during the summer season and major upcoming events in the Principality. These drivers were selected through a public call for applications published in the Journal de Monaco in October 2024 and have been granted a six-month authorization to operate. The additional fleet is 100% electric, aligning with the emissions reduction goals, and the identifiable white vehicles will provide rides within Monaco at a fixed rate of €18, as well as to neighboring towns for €25. In case of high demand, they can also offer rides between Menton and Nice Ville. During major events in Monaco, these taxis can be booked for transportation to the airport, Nice train station, or Nice city throughout the day, and between 5 am and 9 am on other days of the season. The electric taxi deployment will occur in three waves, with 8 taxis from April 1st to September 30th, an additional 10 taxis from April 15th to October 15th, and 10 more reinforcements from May 1st to November 1st, ensuring the full fleet availability between May 1st and September 30th, the busiest period. To ensure optimal service, 11 eco-taxis will operate during the night (9 pm – 5 am), and at least 7 of them will be available 24/7 by calling +377 93 15 01 01.
