Summary:
The Point Accueil Marchandises (PAM) has opened in Monaco, providing a logistical hub for package storage and delivery in order to optimize distribution and reduce traffic congestion in the city.
Full Story:
The distribution and collection of packages for individuals and goods for businesses in Monaco are continuously growing, with up to 5,700 packages per day, 30 routes, and 4,200 delivery points. To optimize this activity and prevent further traffic congestion in the Principality, La Poste Monaco, with the support of the Prince’s Government, has opened the Point Accueil Marchandises (PAM) on Boulevard du Jardin Exotique. This 1,500 m² logistics platform captures incoming packages and facilitates deliveries for other express transport operators, making routes more efficient and reducing the number of utility vehicles within the city.
Operating in conjunction with the future La Poste Monaco Sorting Center located in the Ilot Pasteur project, the PAM can handle up to 2,500 packages daily, potentially more with extended operating hours. It employs 14 delivery drivers who use electric vehicles for their rounds.
Additionally, the PAM features a 24/7 accessible locker system and a customer service counter that accepts package deposits and pickups at the relay point from Monday to Friday, 9 am to 7 pm, and on Saturdays from 9 am to 12 pm.
Furthermore, dedicated delivery areas are associated with the PAM to further optimize distribution activities and alleviate traffic in the city.
