Full Story:
The Dante Alighieri Society of Monaco is hosting an event featuring two exceptional women, both aerospace engineers: Amalia Ercoli-Finzi and Giulia Carla Bassani. Amalia Ercole-Finzi, 87 years old, was one of only five women enrolled at the Polytechnic University of Milan. She graduated in aeronautics and later transitioned to aerospace after Yuri Gagarin’s first spaceflight on April 12, 1961. She collaborated with the European Space Agency until 2004. Giulia Carla Bassani, only 23 years old, studies the sustainability of human missions to the Moon and Mars. This encounter between these incredible women from different generations will take the audience on a fascinating scientific journey through the Universe, exploring comets and planets, including Mars.

The Dante Alighieri Society of Monaco will resume its programming on October 11th at the Agorà dicoesana with a conference titled “The Challenges of Artificial Intelligence” by Franciscan Father Paolo Benanti. Father Benanti is a professor at the Pontifical Gregorian University and the University of Seattle. He is an adviser to Pope Francis on artificial intelligence, ethics, and technology, and since October 2023, he has been the only Italian member of the United Nations Secretary-General’s group of advisers on Artificial Intelligence. Since January 2024, Father Paolo Benanti has been the president of the Artificial Intelligence Commission for the Information Department of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (known as the Algorithm Commission).
