Résumé:
A symbolic march from Dolceacqua to Monaco strengthens the ties between the two communities.
Histoire complète :
A symbolic march from Dolceacqua to Monaco was organized following the twinning ceremony on November 3. Participants, led by Vice Mayor Karyn Ardisson Salopek, set off from the town hall of Dolceacqua in the morning and were joined by Vice Mayor Jacques Pastor of Monaco. They walked along the seaside paths and later met Mayor Georges Marsan at Place d’Armes. Prince Albert II of Monaco joined the marchers and walked several kilometers with them. They took a photo in front of the Palace and then concluded the 38 km, 9-hour march at the Court of Honor of the Municipality. The connections between Dolceacqua and Monaco date back to the Middle Ages through the marriage of Françoise Grimaldi and Luc Doria. The recent twinning has strengthened the bond between the two communities and allowed them to follow in the footsteps of their ancestors who often walked this path.
