The Rainier III Gerontology Center in Monaco will be welcoming a therapy dog named Sepia on Thursday, September 12. Sepia will be delivered by the “Les Chiens Guides d’Aveugles de Provence Côte d’Azur Corse” association. The handover ceremony will be attended by Sandrine Lebreton, an educator from SEPIA, Guillaume Socci, the Executive Assistant of the Rainier III Clinical Gerontology Center, and Dr. Sandrine Louchart, Head of the Geriatrics Department. Pet therapy has proven to be beneficial for both elderly individuals in nursing homes and children hospitalized in recent years. Pets, whether dogs, cats, horses, hamsters, etc., have a positive impact on the physical and mental well-being of people, especially those experiencing depression.
