Prince Albert II recently visited the prestigious Scuderie del Quirinale in Rome, accompanied by President Sergio Mattarella, to explore the exhibition “Il Mondo a Roma. Arte e Globalizzazione nel Secolo Barocco.” The exhibition focuses on intercultural dialogues during the Baroque period, with Rome being at the center of early global exchanges. The Prince of Monaco contributed to the exhibition by loaning a major work by Nicolas Poussin titled “Hannibal traversant les Alpes à dos d’éléphant.” This exhibition highlights Monaco’s commitment to international cultural exchanges and its participation in major European artistic events. The exhibition, a collaboration between Scuderie del Quirinale and Galleria Borghese, will be open to the public from April 3rd to July 13th, 2025, showcasing masterpieces by Van Dyck, Poussin, Pietro da Cortona, and rare objects reflecting Rome’s openness to global influences from the Middle East, China, the Islamic world, Japan, and the Americas.
