Résumé:
Prince Albert II and Princess Charlène of Monaco have officially inaugurated the new animal shelter of the Société Protectrice des Animaux (SPA) of Monaco in Peille, marking a key milestone in Monaco’s commitment to helping abandoned and mistreated animals.

Histoire complète :
Prince Albert II and Princess Charlène, President of the Society for the Protection of Animals (SPA) of Monaco, officially inaugurated the new shelter of the Association on September 16, 2024, located in the commune of Peille. The ceremony was attended by Monegasque and French authorities, members of the Board of Directors and staff of the SPA of Monaco, project partners, and the mayor of Peille, Cyril Piazza.

This event marks a significant milestone in the Principality’s commitment to abandoned and mistreated animals, two years after the laying of the foundation stone on September 12, 2022, by Prince Albert II and Princess Charlène.

Built in just 24 months in a natural area at an altitude of 700 meters, this shelter provides a true haven of peace for distressed animals. It can accommodate up to 40 dogs, including 6 in quarantine, and approximately 50 cats, including 7 in quarantine. Additionally, other pets and birds can also be temporarily cared for at the shelter.
