Monaco was represented by a delegation led by Minister of State, Isabelle Berro-Amadeï, at the commemoration ceremony for the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau camp. The ceremony, held on January 27, 2025, was attended by over 50 heads of state, government officials, and representatives from international organizations. The delegations gathered at the “gate of death,” the entrance to the Auschwitz-Birkenau camp, to pay tribute. The atmosphere was solemn and emotional, with a deep concern about the resurgence of anti-Semitism. Survivors shared poignant testimonies, and participants placed candles in honor of the 1.5 million men, women, and children who perished at the camp between 1940 and 1945.
