Monaco recently received a historic visit from Nicolas RALLO, the Director of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) for the Europe-North Atlantic Region. This is the first time since joining the organization in 1980 that Monaco has welcomed a regional director. The ICAO supports 193 countries worldwide by providing technical and diplomatic assistance to coordinate aviation activities and ensure reliable connections. During the visit, discussions focused on sustainable aviation, drone regulation, fostering collaboration among stakeholders to position Monaco as a leader in decarbonized aviation, and strengthening the legal framework for a safer airspace. The director had the opportunity to witness the collaborative work between the Monaco government teams and gain insights into the specificities of the territory. The visit included a presentation of Monaco’s aviation infrastructure and meetings with the Civil Aviation Authority and operators at the Monaco Heliport.
