Résumé:
Monaco is launching an official website dedicated to the stage of the Tour de France 2024 between Monaco and Nice, providing information on the stage, transportation, activities, and attractions in the area.
Histoire complète :
Monaco will host the 21st and final stage of the 111th Tour de France on Sunday, July 21, 2024. The individual time trial between Monaco and Nice could prove crucial for the overall victory. The event is significant for the country’s reputation and is expected to attract thousands of cycling enthusiasts. Extensive organization and preparations are underway, including arrangements for traffic and public transportation.
To provide detailed information about the stage and its accompanying activities, as well as guidance for visitors and residents, the Government of Monaco has launched a dedicated website: https://letouramonaco.gouv.mc/. The site offers practical details about the stage’s route, schedules, various entertainment options (such as the advertising caravan), transportation solutions to and within the Principality (including trains, buses, bicycles, and individual vehicles/parking), and anticipated mobility impacts. A link to download the Citymapper app is also available to facilitate travel.
The “Around the Tour” section caters specifically to visitors of Monaco, offering ideas to explore the destination and continue the Monaco tourist experience beyond the Grand Boucle. Suggestions include the Larvotto beach, the grand summer exhibition “Turner, le sublime héritage” at the Grimaldi Forum, museums, and walks.
Furthermore, the section “Monaco and the Tour de France” highlights the close relationship between Monaco and the competition, as the country has already hosted the Tour 11 times and served as a stage city 6 times. It also focuses on cycling in general, featuring prominent professional cyclists who reside in the Principality, various cycling events, and the MonaBike bike-sharing service.
The website https://letouramonaco.gouv.mc/ is available in three languages (French, English, and Italian), adapts to smartphones/tablets, and offers user-friendly navigation.
