Histoire complète :
Monaco’s commitment to the protection of the marine environment was showcased at a joint event organized by the Pelagos and RAMOGE agreements. The event, held at Sciences Po Paris in Menton, brought together representatives from the three signatory countries, as well as local officials and partners. The participants discussed their activities in marine environmental protection, with a focus on pollution reduction. The event also included roundtable discussions on the role of local communities and marine protected areas. The outcomes of these discussions will be further examined by the respective secretariats and presented to decision-making bodies. The event concluded with the presentation of an artwork by Monaco-based artist Anthony Alberti, highlighting the success of the collaboration between the Pelagos and RAMOGE agreements. The Pelagos agreement, established in 2002, aims to protect marine mammals in the region and is the only international transboundary area dedicated to their conservation. The RAMOGE agreement, an intergovernmental cooperation agreement, focuses on the protection of the marine environment along the coasts of France, Monaco, and Italy, including actions against pollution incidents. These agreements demonstrate Monaco’s ongoing commitment to environmental conservation in the Mediterranean region.
