Monaco Run has set a new European record in the 5km race with Diane Van Es achieving the fastest time ever recorded by a European woman, clocking in at 14:39. Likina Amebaw from Ethiopia won the race for the second consecutive year in a new event record of 14:33. Monaco has now seen all three European records for the 5km distance broken (women only, mixed genders). Cassandre Beaugrand from France, an Olympic triathlon champion and member of AS Monaco Athlétisme, also achieved a remarkable performance, finishing fourth with a time of 14:53 and setting a new French record. Isaac Kimeli from Belgium came close to breaking the European record for the distance in the men’s race, falling short by three seconds with a time of 13:15. Frederik Ruppert from Germany and Djilali Bedrani from France finished closely behind with times of 13:21 and 13:22 respectively. AS Monaco demonstrated its presence once again with 27 members participating in the 5km race.
