Résumé:
Monaco has renewed its voluntary contributions agreement with the Council of Europe, reaffirming its support for the organization’s activities in areas such as combating violence against women and strengthening the effectiveness of the European Court of Human Rights.

Histoire complète :
On May 30, 2024, H.E. Mr. Gabriel Revel, Ambassador, Permanent Representative of the Principality of Monaco to the Council of Europe, and Mr. Bjørn Berge, Deputy Secretary General of the Council of Europe, renewed the agreement on voluntary contributions between Monaco and the Organization.

With this agreement, Monaco reaffirms its support for the Council of Europe by committing to support the activities of this Institution.

The programs supported by the Monaco Government are in line with the Principality’s priority commitments internationally. They specifically relate to four areas of activity in which the Council of Europe has demonstrated recognized expertise:

– Combatting violence against women, domestic violence, and violence against children in Morocco and Tunisia (Council of Europe Neighbourhood Partnership).
– The Council of Europe Action Plan on the Protection of Vulnerable Persons in the Context of Migration and Asylum in Europe.
– Strengthening the efficiency of the European Court of Human Rights by reducing the backlog of well-founded cases.
– The Fund for the Convention on the Conservation of European Wildlife and Natural Habitats (Bern Convention).
