Histoire complète :
Monaco recently appeared before the United Nations Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (CERD) to discuss its policies on combatting racial discrimination. The committee reviewed Monaco’s efforts based on the country’s report regarding the implementation of the International Convention on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. The Monégasque delegation, led by Ambassador Carole LANTERI, presented the report and answered questions from the committee’s experts at the UN Human Rights Office in Geneva. The delegation discussed the measures taken by Monaco to prevent and respond to discriminatory behaviors, as well as the assistance provided to victims. The delegation also highlighted specific aspects of Monaco’s approach in areas such as employment, education, and social support. The CERD will subsequently release its final observations and recommendations, some of which will undergo a follow-up process. As a reminder, the CERD is an independent committee established by the International Convention on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. Monaco ratified the Convention in 1995.
