Résumé:
Monaco is preparing to commemorate the 80th anniversary of its liberation from the Nazis, with a special exhibition honoring the contribution of the American army.

Histoire complète :
The Principality of Monaco is preparing to commemorate the 80th anniversary of its liberation from the Nazis on September 3rd. This year, the Prince of Monaco has requested the celebration of the anniversary, emphasizing the decisive contribution of the American army. The advancement of the 1st Airborne Task Force units, parachuted into Provence on August 15th and commanded by General Frederick, caused the retreat of German troops and allowed local resistance groups to emerge from hiding. A special tribute will be paid to General Frederick, with the Monaco government financially supporting the erection of a bronze statue in his honor. On August 15th, Monaco issued a postage stamp featuring General Frederick. His nephew, Bradford Hicks, has been invited to the national commemoration day on September 3rd. A military ceremony will take place at the Monaco cemetery at 5 pm, in front of the monument to the fallen of the 20th-century world wars, with the presence of the Prince and other Monegasque authorities. The Monaco, French, and American military will render honors. Additionally, a exhibition called “Monaco Liberé! 3 September-28 December 1944” will be inaugurated by Prince Albert II at the Ministry of State, in collaboration with various organizations, and will remain open until January 31, 2025.
