Monaco Mourns: Tributes Planned for Didier Guillaume
Following the death of Didier Guillaume, Minister of State of the Principality of Monaco, on January 18th, Prince Albert II expressed his deep emotion in a poignant message.
“I am deeply touched by the passing of a dedicated and compassionate man. The Principality of Monaco has lost an exemplary servant, whose actions and loyalty will remain etched in our memories. I offer my sincere condolences to his family, as well as my warm thoughts to all those mourning him today.”
Several national tributes have been planned to honor the memory of Didier Guillaume:
– National Day of Mourning: The funeral is scheduled for Thursday, January 23rd at 11 a.m. at Monaco Cathedral.
– Flags at Half-Mast: Flags on all public buildings in the Principality will be flown at half-mast from Saturday, January 18th until the end of the funeral.
– Minute of Silence: On Monday, January 20th at 11 a.m., a siren will sound, inviting the population to observe a moment of reflection.
– Chapel of Rest and Condolence Register: These will be set up at the Chapel of Mercy (Town Hall Square) and open to the public from Monday, January 20th to Wednesday, January 22nd, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Through the statement from the Palais Princier, Prince Albert II reiterated his support for the family and friends of Didier Guillaume, as well as for all those who have been affected by his dedication to the Principality.
