Monaco’s government officials have met with ministers from Tunisia and Morocco to discuss environmental cooperation, specifically focusing on the countries’ climate ambitions and identifying areas of synergy between cooperative and climate policies.

Monaco’s Government Ministers of Equipment, Environment, and Urbanism, Céline Caron-Dagioni, and of External Relations and Cooperation, Isabelle Berro-Amadeï, recently held bilateral meetings with Tunisia’s Minister of the Environment, Leila Chikhaoui, and Morocco’s Minister of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, Leila Benali. These meetings, which took place on March 19th and April 12th, were held within the framework of Article 6 of the Paris Climate Agreement, ratified by Monaco in 2016. The agreement allows states to voluntarily cooperate with other states to achieve their respective national climate goals. Monaco has longstanding partnerships and strong cooperation ties with Tunisia and Morocco. The discussions focused on each country’s environmental ambitions and identifying areas of synergy between cooperation and climate policies.
