Monaco has held its first meeting of the Steering Committee for the global strategy to combat corruption as part of the 5th evaluation cycle of GRECO. The committee, established by Sovereign Ordinance No. 11.092 on February 18, 2025, is tasked with developing a comprehensive strategy and determining the necessary measures to implement GRECO’s recommendations. It aims to prevent corruption and promote integrity within central governments and law enforcement services. In her opening remarks, Minister Isabelle BERRO-AMADEÏ expressed satisfaction with the establishment of the committee, emphasizing its central role in achieving tangible results. The first progress report is expected to be released in December 2025. The establishment of this committee demonstrates Monaco’s determination and commitment to making progress in the fight against corruption. The committee includes the Secretary of State for Justice-Director of Judicial Services, Government Ministers, the Director of the Cabinet of H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince, the Director of the Cabinet of the Minister of State, the Secretary General of the Government, the Controller in charge of the Public Security Directorate, the Director of Legal Affairs, the Director of Human Resources and Training for the Civil Service, and the Inspector General in charge of the functions of Chief of the General Inspection of Administration.
