Histoire complète :
The Monaco Energy Boat Challenge, held from July 1-6, showcased the future of yachting. Prince Albert II attended the event’s final day, surprising the participants. Over 40 universities and 25 nations were represented by hundreds of engineering students who traveled to Monaco for this unique competition. The goal was to present their prototypes and engage with industry leaders in the yachting sector.

Organized by the Yacht Club de Monaco in collaboration with the Prince Albert II Foundation, the challenge focuses on innovation and sustainability. Since 2014, it has been an integral part of Monaco’s commitment to advanced yachting by incorporating alternative energies, design, and hull construction. Participants are encouraged to integrate new technologies, innovative materials, and alternative propulsion systems that minimize environmental impact while maintaining nautical performance. This includes the use of renewable energies such as solar, hydrogen, and electricity to power the boats.

During the event, a panel of industry professionals attended technical conferences and boat visits. They awarded five prizes, including the highly coveted innovation prize won by Sea Sakthi, the eco-design prize won by TSB Energy Portugal, and the jury’s special mention given to Poseidon – INOCEL. The title of Champion of the 2024 Monaco Energy Boat Challenge was awarded to Oceanos – NTUA from Greece. Registration is already open for the 2025 edition.
