A delegation from Monaco, led by Frédéric Genta, the Interministerial Delegate for Attractiveness and Digital Transition, recently visited Athens on July 9th and 10th. The purpose of this mission was to strengthen the ties between Monaco and Greece and explore potential mutual collaborations. Monaco and Greece share deep roots, with some historians suggesting that the name “Monaco” is derived from the Greek word “Monoïkos.” The Greek community is the eleventh most represented community in Monaco. The delegation, comprising representatives from the public and private sectors, including the Société des Bains de Mer, Ports of Monaco, Monaco Economic Board, Association Monégasque des Activités Financières, and Monaco Private Label, met with Dr. Vassili Apostolopoulos, the Honorary Consul of Monaco in Greece. Frédéric Genta also met with Dr. Dionysia-Theodora Avgerinopoulou, a Member of the Hellenic Parliament and Special Envoy of the Greek Prime Minister for the Oceans. The delegation engaged in discussions with economic leaders and influential personalities, highlighting various opportunities for collaboration between the two countries, including investments, yachting, tourism, and real estate. Through interactions with the local press, this mission aimed to enhance understanding of Monaco and the numerous opportunities it offers to Greek business actors. The delegation included Frédéric Genta, Chloé Boscagli-Leclercq, Sasha Viviani, Aleco Keusseoglou, Justin Highman, Nicolas Feit, Christian Barilaro, Anastasios Economou, Katerina Lanara, Emmanuel Spanoudis, and Elena Vlandis.
