Histoire complète :
A delegation from Monaco, consisting of Richard MARANGONI, the General Controller in charge of the Public Security Directorate of Monaco, Jean-François MIRIGAY, the Divisional Commissioner and head of the Judicial Police Division, and Pierre WIOSKA, the Police Captain and head of the International Cooperation Unit, attended the 51st European Regional Conference of INTERPOL in Tirana, Albania from June 11 to 13, 2024.

The purpose of this conference was to evaluate and prevent regional threats and trends in transnational crime in Europe, through cooperation.

INTERPOL is the largest international organization, comprising 196 countries, aimed at making the world safer through the exchange of information and good policing practices.

Over the course of three days, the Monegasque delegation engaged in numerous exchanges with foreign delegations, including two bilateral meetings with the heads of the Indian and Austrian delegations, to discuss organized crime and the fight against cybercrime.

On June 12, 2024, at the request of the Monaco delegation, they had a meeting with the Secretary General of INTERPOL, Jürgen STOCK. As he neared the end of his tenure as Secretary General, Mr. STOCK wanted to thank the Monaco Public Security Directorate for its constant investment in INTERPOL, mentioning the strong ties between this international organization and the Principality. He also mentioned that the idea of creating a police cooperation organization was born in Monaco in 1914 under the auspices of Prince Albert I, and the organization held its 83rd General Assembly session in Monaco 100 years later in November 2014.

During the meeting, Mr. STOCK expressed his personal attachment to the Principality of Monaco and conveyed his gratitude to H.S.H. Prince Albert II, Mr. Patrice CELLARIO, the Government Councilor – Minister of the Interior, and the Principality’s Government for their assistance and support to INTERPOL.
