Résumé:
A cooperation agreement has been signed between the Service du Gel des Avoirs and the Direction de la Sûreté publique to manage seized or confiscated assets in Monaco and abroad.
Histoire complète :
A cooperation agreement was signed on December 11, 2024, between the Director of the Monaco Department for the Management of Seized or Confiscated Assets, Mr. Richard DUBANT, and the Director of Public Security, Mr. Eric ARELLA. This partnership aligns with Monaco’s international commitments and domestic laws regarding the fight against money laundering, terrorism financing, and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. The purpose of the agreement is to establish the collaboration between these two departments for the management of seized or confiscated assets, both in Monaco and abroad. This includes the preparation of decisions regarding criminal asset seizures, the execution of judicial seizure or confiscation orders, and the organization of information or training activities to promote good practices in criminal asset seizures and confiscations. Operationally, this cooperation framework also aims to identify and preserve assets that may be subject to seizure at the beginning of criminal investigations.
