Monaco has achieved a significant milestone in its efforts to reduce dependence on French water sources. In June 2023, the Principality activated the Annonciade well, which taps into the historic Vaulabelle spring. This well had been out of use since the 1990s but now supplies Monaco with 25 to 50 cubic meters of water per hour. The discovery of this new water source has greatly bolstered Monaco’s independence and sustainability. By diversifying its water sources, Monaco is ensuring a more secure and reliable water supply for its residents. This achievement is a testament to Monaco’s commitment to self-sufficiency and environmental conservation.
