The Monaco Rugby Federation has appointed H.S.H. Princess Charlene of Monaco as the President of their Board of Directors. H.S.H. Princess Charlene is committed to supporting younger generations and promoting the values of sports she holds dear, such as discipline, respect, and inclusion.
In 2012, H.S.H. Princess Charlene established her own foundation, which focuses on education through sport, particularly through the “Sport and Education” program. That same year, she inaugurated the “Torneo Sainte-Dévote,” an annual U12 rugby tournament that welcomes children from around the world to the Principality of Monaco.
In 2016, the Princess Charlene Foundation launched the “Rugby Exchange” program, allowing young players to explore other cultures through their sport. The following year, Princess Charlene created a Monaco 7s rugby team called “Impis,” which has participated in various international events like the Melrose 7s and the Emirates Dubai 7s.
Accepting the role of President of the Monaco Rugby Federation’s Board of Directors, H.S.H. Princess Charlene aims to support and accompany teams and volunteers in their ongoing work within the Federation. As an active spokesperson, she hopes to promote Monaco’s rugby beyond its borders.
