Résumé:
The government of Monaco provides additional emergency aid to the Lebanese population affected by the crisis.
Histoire complète :
The government of Monaco has decided to provide additional emergency aid to the people of Lebanon in response to the ongoing crisis in the country. Lebanon has been facing population displacement, school closures, and increased healthcare needs since late 2023. Monaco, a longstanding cooperation partner of Lebanon, had previously allocated exceptional aid to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs. Due to the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East, with over a million people, including more than 350,000 children, in need of assistance, the government of Monaco is now providing a new aid package worth 100,000 euros. This support will be directed towards the integrated response implemented by the Lebanese Association of the Knights of Malta and Amel International Association, both of which have extensive experience and strong capacities in healthcare and specialized mobile units. It is worth noting that the Monaco Red Cross has also launched a public appeal for donations to support this cause.
