A cultural evening was held at Dante Alighieri in Monaco focused on the theme of beauty, explored through art and music. Journalist Giuliana Poli opened the conference by discussing the beauty in Michelangelo’s Pietà at the Vatican, decoding the hidden aspects of this sublime work of art. The audience learned how the use of veils and mirrors represent the reflection of God’s beauty and how ugliness is the starting point for reaching the beauty of being. Music also played a role in exploring beauty as singer-songwriter Francesco Boccia took to the stage to perform his songs “TuruTuru” and “Grande amore.” Francesco shared his journey as a musician and his experiences with the songs he has written. The evening also featured the unveiling of a bronze sculpture dedicated to Princess Grace, created by artist Ettore Marinelli. Marinelli, who comes from a long line of artists, shared his passion for working with clay and bronze and the importance of maintaining the integrity of Princess Grace’s image in his sculpture. The event concluded with positive feedback from the audience, and the next event at Dante Alighieri in Monaco was announced to be an upcoming meeting with mathematician and writer Piergiorgio Odifreddi.
