Résumé:
“« Méditerranée 2050 », an immersive exhibition at the heart of this threatened gem, invites visitors on a journey through time to raise awareness about the Mediterranean Sea and its preservation.”

Histoire complète :
Embark on a spatio-temporal journey through the Mediterranean starting March 29, 2025, at the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco. The exhibition “Mediterranean 2050” at the museum aims to raise awareness about the challenges facing the Mediterranean.

As part of the Oceanographic Institute of Monaco’s extensive multi-year program to preserve Mediterranean ecosystems, “Mediterranean 2050” is an immersive exhibition spread over 1000 m². It takes visitors on a journey through the past centuries and projects them into a future within a Marine Protected Area (MPA) in the Mediterranean.

The exhibition features interactive devices and immersive projections. One of its highlights is the use of luminous gateways, serving as a bridge between different eras and environments throughout the visitor’s journey. From the moment visitors enter the “Temple of the Sea,” they are warmly greeted by large marine mammals and cetaceans.

Organized around four immersive spaces, the exhibition begins in the Oceanomania salon, showcasing the wonders of the marine world. It then continues with Oceano Monaco, which highlights the commitment of the Prince of Monaco and his family. Further along, Oceano Odyssey offers a 310 m² immersive projection, allowing visitors to encounter cetaceans. The final step is the interactive panels of “My OCEANO Med,” through which the public can engage through individual actions. The exhibition captivates visitors from start to finish.

By creating this exhibition, the Oceanographic Institute of Monaco and Prince Albert II seek to emphasize the importance of finding new solutions for the Mediterranean, a region that has historically symbolized both progress and current global challenges.
